In his youth Dr. Rasmussen earned the highest honor of Eagle Scout. He is shown here as part of the recognition of 100 years of Boy Scouting.

Dr. Rasmussen has been providing health care for over 43 years. He served as a Hospital Corpsman for four years in the U.S. Navy. He completed clinical lab assistant training at Portsmouth Naval Hospital, Portsmouth, Virginia and was the head of the dispensary laboratory at Naval Air Station at Corpus Christi, Texas and at Camp Smedley Butler for the 3dr Marine Division in Okinawa. He also served as Search Air Rescue medical flight crew member in helicopter operations at the Naval Air Station.

After leaving the service he completed college earning a Bachelor’s degree in biology at the University of Illinois Chicago Campus and then worked at the University of Illinois Medical Center in Chicago Clinical Laboratory in Hematology and Blood Bank. He worked at U of I while attending the National University of Health Sciences in Lombard, Illinois. He was active in student council and the Delta Tau Alpha Honorary Fraternity. He organized the first blood drive at the chiropractic college which has continued yearly since its beginning.

Currently, Dr. Rasmussen has his private practice and is a provider for Holy Cross Hospital Health Partners and Senior Care Partners.

 

Previously he served as President of the Rotary Club of Cicero. He participates in community Health expositions and provides health information to the attendees.

He continues to provide lectures to the local community service groups such as Rotary International, Lions and Kiwanis as well as senior groups on a variety of health related topics.

Dr. Rasmussen volunteered for Open House Parents Night at Kennedy High School.

He also addressed classes at the Kennedy high school in Chicago as Principal for A Day about the process of education to enter the chiropractic profession.

He is an active member of the Illinois Chiropractic Society and has participated in lobbying for health issues that concern all citizens at the state capitol in Springfield.

He spoke with state legislators about bills involving chiropractic interest.
